A large crowd also follows, which “presses upon” Jesus, his disciples, and the synagogue ruler (v. 24). An Interrupted Journey—the Hemorrhaging Woman (vv. 25–29). Suddenly a woman appears, but not in a public way. She has suffered for twelve years “with a flow of blood” (v. 25), which implies a menstrual disorder. She has had many physicians, spent “all that she had” (v. 26), and still grows worse.
